Commercial EPC Certificates
London & Essex Commercial EPC Certificates
The team at Maintenance Hive is available to complete EPC assessments on non-domestic properties in the London and Essex area. Commercial businesses are required to hold an EPC in certain circumstances and these must be issued by a qualified assessor.
What is a Commercial EPC Certificate?
EPC is short for Energy Performance Certificate and it’s a report of the energy efficiency of your business’s property. Included in the report will be some recommendations on what could be done to improve your energy efficiency.
Each commercial EPC will carry a rating of A to G with A being the most efficient and G the least efficient. Our team of energy assessors will visit your commercial premises in London or Essex and complete an EPC for you.
Do I need a commercial EPC Certificate?
It is currently a legal requirement in England and Wales to have an EPC if you are selling your premises, or if you are a landlord and are renting part or all of the building. An EPC is needed if a new-build property has now been completed.
If you have a building that is often visited by members of the public and is more than 500 square meters in size, you must display a valid EPC.
Fines can be issued of up to £5000 if you don’t comply with these laws so it’s important to make sure you have an in-date EPC available if needed. Don’t be caught out – book an assessment with us and let us take care of the rest.

How long does an EPC assessment take?
The length of time an assessor will be in your commercial building will depend on the size and complexity of the space, but allow approximately an hour to 90 minutes for the check to be completed.
An EPC is valid for 10 years unless there are significant changes to the building during that time.
What to expect from Commercial EPC
There is nothing to worry about when having an EPC inspection. It’s a visual check of the building’s insulation, energy use, heating and cooking systems, and construction type. Notes are taken about the lighting, windows, and doors. With all of the information collated, the assessor can then produce a report about the premises’ energy efficiency and give it a rating.
Our team of accredited assessors is trained to complete accurate EPCs for non-domestic buildings. We will forward the report and rating within 24 hours for your records. Call our team and book an appointment to suit you. There is no upfront payment and our charges are some of the cheapest around.
